The ACC Men's Basketball Tournament

The ACC Men's Basketball Tournament is one of the nations premier collegiate sports events. In 1999 when city selection for 2005-2010 was taking place, their member institutions were concerned about the escalating hotel rates. After visiting each city under consideration and negotiating with the major hotels our staff was able to bring rates down by as much as 30%, - without any expense to the ACC or their member institutions.  Hotels were pleased to have a single contact for the tournament contracting, as well as a central housing process for fans both in and out of the official blocks.  In addition, we began working with each member institution to assess their individual tournament needs, negotiate future contracts, and develop a service plan to handle their key alumni, boosters, athletic department and team reservations including elements like online access codes for sub-blocks. We developed a web site at www.accrooms.com for 24/7 reservations as well as a toll-free number to put into use each year. Hotels appreciate having a central source through which they can promote their property to tournament fans and all reservations are sent to them via rooming list with deposits. The host cities also have more concrete figures on the room nights being generated and thus can track the economic impact of this major event. It's a win-win for everyone and we are proud to be working with these great institutions and the ACC as their official housing provider through at least 2015.
